Import Duties, Tariffs, and Customs Fees for International Orders

When purchasing items from another country, your order may be subject to import duties, tariffs, taxes, and customs processing fees, as required by your local customs authority. These additional charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost and are the sole responsibility of the buyer.
At Subhash Emporium, we actively monitor changes in international tariffs and customs regulations to help our buyers and sellers stay informed. Our goal is to ensure transparency and support you in understanding any extra costs associated with international shipments.
When do Duties and Taxes Apply
Duties and taxes generally apply when goods cross international borders outside of a single customs union (e.g., India, the European Union, U.S,). Fees are assessed based on:
Item value and type
Package weight and dimensions
Country of origin
Destination country
These charges may be due before delivery, at the time of delivery, or after delivery, depending on your country's customs procedures.
What to Expect: Step-by-Step
1. Place Your Order
After completing checkout, your item will be prepared by the seller and shipped to your address.
2. Customs Processing
Upon arrival in your country, the package will be reviewed by your local customs authority. They will assess any applicable duties and taxes based on the shipment’s details.
3. Provide Required Information
You may be asked to provide personal identification information to facilitate customs clearance. This may include:
SSN (Social Security Number)
EIN (Employer Identification Number)
IRN / TIN (Tax Identification Number)
EORI (Economic Operator Registration and Identification)
Your shipping carrier (e.g., FedEx, UPS, DHL) will contact you directly via phone, email, or text with instructions, including any documents or fees required for customs clearance.
4. Pay Duties and Taxes
You will be notified by the carrier of the amount due and the payment process. Payment may be required:
Before final delivery is scheduled
At the time of delivery
Or shortly after delivery, depending on local regulations
5. Delivery Completion
Once customs clearance is complete and any fees are paid, your package will be delivered.
Please note that customs-related delays are beyond Subhash Emporium's control and may affect your delivery timeline. Such delays are not eligible for shipping refunds.
Buyer Responsibility
You are responsible for responding to customs requests and paying any import duties promptly. Failure to do so may result in:
Return-to-sender actions
Additional reshipment or storage fees
Abandonment of the item
If the item is returned to the seller or discarded due to non-compliance, no refund will be issued, and any reshipment fees will be at your expense.
We recommend staying attentive to communications from your shipping carrier and addressing any customs requirements as soon as possible to avoid delays or additional charges.
